Medium crimson red streaked with ochre. Ample, slightly attenuated nose: meat, green pepper, smoke and an integrated barrel toastiness. On the palate, medium-full body with notes of earth and spice: damson plum, black currant. Not the classiest: its a little ungainly, a bit rustic and a touch burly. Nicely grippy tannins though. The Fieuzal ’99 should be consumed over the next two years. Now – 2015.
