Domaine Francois et Antoine Jobard, Meursault Genevrières 1er Cru 2008

Domaine Francois et Antoine Jobard, Meursault Genevrières 1er Cru, 2008
Full immature color.  Reticent, backward nose that with coaxing shows both impressive width and depth: spice, sea salt, shrimp shell reduction and nut oils.  Just a spot of oak.  On the palate smoothly textured and concentrated: mostly white flesh fruit and citrus notes.  This has terrific energy and intensity as its powers through to its stone and mineral laden finish.  Not too severe, as this family’s wines tend to be in their youth.  A wine just hinting at its potential; it has a terrific future.  Both a yardstick ’08 and yardstick Genevrières.  I would not touch another one of these for at least three years.  Very good now with all the makings of a potentially very fine wine.  From 2016+.
