Still immature, medium straw with hints of emerald. Broad, ripe and oaky on the nose: gunflint and matchstick from the barrel toast. Pungent, richly textured: green skinned fruit and wet stone. This is quite concentrated: dense, resinous even. Dimension and swell through the mid-palate. Profound mineral finish. Excellent acidity. This is a very fine bottle but too young right now. If you dare, give this more time in the cellar and we think you will be handsomely rewarded (the ’98, ’00 and ’01 Fevre Chablis Clos stand out as wines more for drinking now). With most of the Fevre bottlings, we have had variable bottles, including this one. Now – 2020+.
