Darker cherry red color. Rich, nose: oregeno, fennel, violet, gamebird, camphor. Firm, substantial palate: bing cherry, black cherry, tar and spice notes. Harmonious, vigorous and complex. Substantial, ripe tannins. Quite direct acidity and grip. Structured. Persistent, rewarding finish. This will still improve. A fine bottle. Did we mention how much we love the ’96 vintage from Piedmont? Till 2025+.
