Domaine Michel Gaunoux, Pommard Rugiens 1er Cru 1999

Domaine Ganoux, Pommard Rugiens 1er Cru 1999

Full ruby red color.  Fat, rich, succulent nose: smoked black cherry, black currant, ground coffee, mocha.  Background notes of herb, game, mineral.  Ripe, sophisticated tannins.  Very good grip.  Correct acidity.  Long.  Not the classiest Pommard Rugiens but structured, bold, and polished.  This is powerful, intense and mouthfilling without a trace of Rugiens rudeness, brutality or animale.  This ’99 is showing well right now and the Gaunoux wines age quite well.  Certainly worthy of saving at least one bottle for your ‘twenty years on’ tasting for the ’99s.  A fine bottle.  Now – 2025.Domaine Ganoux, Pommard Rugiens 1er Cru 1999 #1
