Full ruby red color. Muscular, carnal, coiled nose: stony black summer fruit, coffee grounds, violet. Fullish body, richly textured on the palate: spicy liquorice, dark chocolate and black olive. Quite tannic, but they are ripe ’05 tannins. Quite a powerful wine, as sizable as his Mazis usually is. Very structured, with plenty of grip, depth and concentration. This will definitely go. Very good. Still needs another five years at least. Give it time and you are looking at a fine bottle of wine. From 2019.
