Very deep, extracted red color, edged with purple; the color reminds us of the 2003s.  A little reduced on the nose: red berry confiture, cinnamon, wood resin.  Cordial-like.  And quite oaky.  Go underneath and the expression is more limpid: fullish, fresh; a touch dense but sumptuous.  Good, ripe tannins (grape-driven, not oak tannins … fortunately!).  This has nice grip and energetic acidity too.  A powerful Chambolle.  Now – 2020.
