Intense and esoteric on the nose: drunken melon, ginger, sage, cassis, marjoram, shellfish reduction. Cool, spicy and musky-feral on the palate: grapefruit, roasted pineapple, gooseberry, mint. Tangy, keen acidity. Has a call and answer finish, a dance between sweet and sour. Very long. Classy its not: this is more exotic, wanton, dangerous. Rampantly individual, both the varietal and the producer. It is a wine that challenges you. Giggly good. Now – 2016.
