Medium lemon yellow color. Wide, slightly exotic nose: sweet melon, apple tart, September corn, honey blossom. Just a touch of oak. Elegant texture on the palate, good depth of fruit: peach, pear, some citrus notes. Firm balancing acidity. This steadily builds character in the mouth: this is a solid mid-weight Chassagne 1er Cru. Finishes sweetly and buoyantly, with good persistence. These will still keep well. Unfortunately, we have had variable bottles. Very good. Now – 2016.
