Château Poujeaux, Moulis 1995

Poujeaux 1995 #1

Fullish ruby.  Fresh, ample, robust nose: spicy red berry fruit, cedar, violet, tea leaf.  Linear, cool and stony at first. The frame fills out nicely into a fully-textured, meaty palate: mineral-infused mulberries.  Ripe, peppery tannins.  Very good grip and vibrant acidity; this is firmer than Chasse Spleen in ’95 and is the better wine as a result.  In a good place right now. Very good and now à point.  Now – 2020+
