A flamboyant, fullish gold color. Generous, complex, exotic nose: freesia, acacia, passionfruit and apricot, with a lightly burnt toffee, cocoa butter, honey and buttered toast overlay. Fat, rich and oaky. Nicely concentrated, fully textured, liquer-like. Plenty of noble rot here. But nothing ponderous here given all this size and weight. A filigree acidity and very fine grip, just a bit firmer than Lafaurie-Peyraguey ’88 and so the ’89 will last a bit longer. Now – 2030.

Somewhere I have a bottle of this I think and will need to dig it up and try it. Wish I was drinking it now!
