Jacques Picard, Brut Séléction Berru Non Vintage

Jacques Picard Brut NV

60% Chardonnay; 10% Pinot Noir; 30% Pinot Meunier.  Malolactic fermentation only for the Pinots.  Base vintage plus a psuedo-solera of 40% reserve wine dating back to 1999.  To our knowledge the only estate bottling produced from the village of Berru.

Pale straw yellow color.  Neat and racy on the nose: slightly floral and leesy white and yellow fruit, heliotrope, peach cobbler, almond paste, apricot rind, rye butter toast and sea breeze.  Well-detailed on the palate, medium full: bellini peach, apple puff pastry and whipped cream.  Fresh, silky mousse.  Fine bead.   Well balanced and structured.  Barb says, “springtime and mountain creek flavors”.  We like this.  Some filigree and nuance here.  Very good.  Now – 2016.
