A burnished gold color. A glossy, ample, ripe nose: well-oiled orchard fruit, mock orange, dill, kerosene and flint. A fun mix of secondaries and tertiaries on this ’90. Served blind we would have guessed Alsatian. Bold, succulent and dense on the palate, even a touch waxy and unctuous: apricot caramel, tangerine cream, orange honey blossom and toasted pistachio. Hefty for Spätlese but a firm buttress of acidity keeps it in check. Good. Drink soon.
