Philippe Prié, Brut Tradition Aube Non Vintage

Philippe Prie Tradition NV #1

July 2014

80% Pinot Noir; 20% Chardonnay from La Côte des Bar. Unknown disgorgement date; current release.

Yellow-gold.  Clean and balanced: apple mint and pineapple fruit.  A bit too anodyne for an Aube: the fruit is a little common and we prefer more personality and minerality in our wine.  Drink soon.

May 2013

80% Pinot Noir; 20% Chardonnay from La Côte des Bar. Unknown disgorgement date; current release.

Pale-gold.  Quite a fruity nose. A bit oxidative too: poached apple with touches of honey and nut.  Barb says, “Martinielli Apple Cider” and “easy like Sunday morning”.  Not enough relief here for us. Old disgorgement?  Another producer with no dates!  Drink up.
