Domaine Marquis de Laguiche (Maison Joseph Drouhin), Chassagne-Montrachet 2000

Drouhin Languiche Chassagne-Montrachet 2000 #5

May 2013

More intensely herbal (marjoram, mint), then segues into the silvan (horehound, woodruff).  Resinous texture with depth: here is a Chassagne to strain through your teeth. Incisive, mineralic finish.  Easily the most intense bottle from this case: this one made us sweat. Sauvage, blockbuster Chassagne.  Dangerous even, particularly for Joseph Drouhin.  Now – 2016+.

March 2013

Medium straw yellow color. Pungent nose: stone and citrus fruit, hawthorn, Chassagne herb, iodine.  Medium body on the palate, incisive, pure and transparent: peach stone and balsam apple. Nice citric acidity and very good grip for a ’00.  Finishes saline.  Persistent.  In style, very Drouhin: refined and expressive of site.  Now – 2015+.
