Ruinart, Brut Special Réserve Reims 1964

Paul Ruinart 1964

An antique bronze color.   Stagnant rivers on the nose.  Warm, rich and saucy, with a nod towards mature pinot flavors: buckwheat, roquefort, old hay, tree bark, walnut honey.  This is sweet without being sweet.  A timeless balance, with a sprite, citric acidity.  Lovely delineation all the way through to the end.  A very seductive wine: a great ’64.
