Immature ruby. Capacious and fragrant: slightly gamey dark fruit, fresh violet, crushed stone and a truffly sottobosco. Quite structured, still a bit prickly. A mass of warm frutti di bosco on the palate, velvety in texture, medium-full: amarena cherry, dark-skinned plum, raspberry cordial. Still a hint of astringency from the oak but this will go. Firm, dusty tannins and an earthy minerality. Liquorice at the end. An intense wine but not blatant. Modern but not forced. This’ll be better at twenty years: still potential here to gain in harmony and nuance. Now – 2025+.
