75% Pinot Noir; 25% Chardonnay. ’06 for base vintage, about 80% of the blend, with 10% each from ’05 and ’04. From the La Côte des Bar. Aged 5 years on its lees. Dosage: 11 g/l. Unknown disgorgement date; current release.
Yellow-gold. Seductive, open nose: orchard fruit with a gently autolyzed trim, marzipan, toasted lees. Cherubic velvet on the palate, a fruit granita of bartlett, bergamot and pineapple, dusted in baking spice, drizzled with honey. Fibrous in texture, with an intense, prickly mousse. Finishes positively. Could use a year in the cellar to come into greater focus. Now – 2018.
