56% Chardonnay; 35% Pinot Noir; 9% still Pinot Noir. From Ambonnay. Grand cru 80%, premier cru 20%. Low dosage. No malolactic fermentation. Disgorged 2008.
Partridge eye pink. Rounded, intricate nose of fraises-de-bois, sandalwood and fresh sea air. Flavorsome, compact and streamlined on the palate: red berry, blood orange & citrus zest, apple skin. Superb ripeness and an etched sweetness that segues into a long, resonant finish. A malic acidity. A mousse and bead of good character. This has greatly benefited from a few years of cellar time, gaining in succulence and dimension. A fragrant, stylish, serious NV Rose. Now – 2015.
