Still a bit locked-up today. Texturally, tactile and taut: like liquid marble. Sinewy, compact and starched. Some iodine, lemongrass, apple blossom and nutmeg for show but this one still hasn’t left the barn yet. Intense and fat-free for now. Now – 2018+.

Pale straw color. Bracingly fresh and lemon-steely on the nose with a touch of funky yeast. Fine bead. Medium-bodied, pungently flavored, herbal white fruit in the mouth. Bone-dry. The mousse is persistent but a little prickly. Some scree to the acidity. Firm, intense mineral-chalk character to wrap up. A little monochromatic at first but it develops positively over the course of the two+ hours it was opened. A good Côte de Blancs in style and typicity. And these will develop more richness and depth with some time in the cellar; the raw materials are there. Now – 2018+.
