Robert Weil, Riesling Tradition Rheingau 2011

Weil Tradition 2011 #1

Robert Weil’s QBA ‘feinherb’ bottling.

Fetching, lyric nose with a phyllitic sheen: mostly citrus with some pit fruit, wisteria, chalky loess.  More pace and urgency on the gooseberry-lime-white peach palate.  Markedly more floral on day two.  Lingering, salted, sassafras root finish.  An atmospheric Weil, yet already quite comfortable in its skin.  Now – 2018.
