100% Chardonnay: 60% Grand Cru from Oger and le-Mesnil-Sur-Oger, 10% Grand Cru from Avize and Cramant, 30% 1er Cru from Vertus and Bergeres-les-Vertus. Late ’90s disgorgement. This is lot #9904B.
Straw to lemon yellow. Most of the goose-pimpled tension of its youth has been shed; this now moves in undulation, with lobster-stock and herbal-japanese green tea intimations. Discreet, brothy notions of grás, oyster-mushroom and pencil. Resonant, cucumber-saline finish, with umami suggestions lingering in the empty flute long after the wine has departed. We wish we could be patient with all of our non-vintage BdB. Drink soon.
why so hard to fine orient express champagne thepro1949@aol.com
The licensing of the name ‘Orient Express’ here in the States is part of the problem.
Haven’t seen it sold here in the States for a number of years now.
