Fifteen years on tasting.
Fullish ruby. A perfume of plump, summer black berries, mossy soil, spent autumn leaf and well-hung game. Plenty of wine here: gutsy middle, furry tannins, structured with good grip. Peaty at the end, with a corporeal minerality. Typical of Jadot’s Clos de Vougeot, its vines situated lower on the slope: sturdy, rich and firm, it has grand cru amplitude but lacks the elegance of the very best. Now – 2020.
