Château de Rayne Vigneau, Bommes 1983

Rayne Vigneau 1983

Thirty years on tasting.

Old gold.  Restrained, orange-blossomy nose.  More broad-backed Bommes on the palate, honeyed yet crisp.  Apricot marmalade and rhubarb confiture.  Of medium body.  Lyric in its balance of sweetness and acidity but not as much noble rot as one would hope for.  The ’86 represents a significant improvement.  For drinking soon but will keep.
