Pale rosé red. Delicate red berry fruit. Touches of baking spice, fleur du sel, club-soda effervescence. Demure without enough structural definition underneath; it risks being tagged as inconsequential. Certainly worth a try: we don’t see alot of Côte des Blancs pink. But not as convincing as their Brut. For drinking soon.
Encépagement: 80% Chardonnay from le Mesnil-Sur-Oger, 20% ‘addition-method’ still red from Vertus. Unknown base vintage. The winemaker is Pierre Gonet from champagne house Philippe Gonet in le Mesnil-Sur-Oger; the vines are his wife’s. This is Lot#051112. Current release.
