A deeper pitch now, canary yellow with emerald hints.  A heady viridescence on the nose: vetiver, melissa, wolfbane.  Incisive and sappy on the palate: lemon oil and dried apricot.  Cool, wet stone finish.  Not the weight and dimension of the best Ruchottes but true.  If you were to distill the indomitable spirit of cover crop like buckwheat and vetch this F&L Pillot would be it.  Won’t improve but this’ll definitely keep.  Now – 2016+.
