April 2014
Russet in pigmentation. More resonant intimations of sea cave, toffee and peony than we remember. Still the same fine-boned lines, at once sleek and serene: this is sweet without being sweet. Corton Grancey, full of grace. Now – 2020.
June 2013
A rust-infused garnet color, pinkish rim. A capacious, sylvan nose: woodsy red berry and citrus fruit, gamebird, leafy spice and a humid, ferny underbrush. Less bucolic on the palate, more kinetic and summery, of light to medium body: gently sauteed cherry, raspberry eau de vie, blood orange, pomegranate. Gauzy textures, fine tannins, mineral bath finish. A lacy Corton and in good form now; à point. Now – 2017.
Just like I remember it
