Diageo Chateau & Estate, New York NY.
Pale and bright. A limpid expression of Chassagne: lissome, sweeter tarragon notes and the usual, Ramonet-mint-archetype. But not a lusty spearmint: less intense, more gently herbal, like pennyroyal. Palpable semi-solidity without undue weight: asian pear, persian melon. Certainly has the volume of a premier cru. Poised, stony cut – not as tensile as the ’10s, nor as edgy. Cucumber-saline finish. Unalloyed Chassagne. Now – 2017+.
