Quite the opposite, this ’93 has made manifest its inner-repose: fine-boned lines of morello cherry, santa rosa plum, touch of asian spice, a metallic minerality. Generous and assured yet never haughty. It speaks now with all the wisdom of a lifetime, beneficent and long. Will carry on for ages. This is produced from the climat Rouges du Bas, one of the steeper, higher-altitude parts of Echézeaux, where the soil is thinner and iron-rich. Now – 2038+.
