Bright ruby.  Chaste and fine-boned with a touch of flair: mentholated cherry, quetsch, dried lavender and stone.  Deftly oaked, with gracious spice and woodsmoke tones.  Of medium body, the fruit is racy and pure, brought just to the point of ripeness and no more.  Rather adamant acidity lends a nervosité to the energy and intensity.   Well-heeled tannin inform the wine’s structure now so this is in its drinking window.  Lyric, mineralic finish.  A proper Ile des Vergelesses.  Now – 2020+.
