Pellucid garnet; a couple ticks deeper in pitch than the corresponding Caillerets. A sweeter, more jellied succulence here: red pastille flavors, rose petal, underbrush. More padding texturally with a bit more length. Technically, this is the finer wine. But it lacks a bit of personality. The Caillerets tells a story of evanescence, a rambling man of sorts and watching those taillights fade to black. By comparison, this is ‘stay in your lane’ Santenots. For drinking soon, although it will keep longer than the Caillerets.
