Fifteen-years on tasting.
Saturated ruby. Anvil dense, a great, loping beast of black fruit tumescence. Hints of animal, gunflint, espresso and musk. Texturally this is velour. The architecture is still glossy and adolescent: superior grip, a firmly-tannic nuttiness. The peroration elocutes smoke and oak-spice rather than minerality at this stage of its evolution (this sees up to 60% new oak). As Amoureuses go, this is more virility, less tantric. Will emerge as meditative given time; at least five, ideally ten years. Now – 2030.
