Domaine Jean-Marc Boillot, Montagny 1er Cru 2008

J.M. Boillot Montagny 1er Cru 2008

After a traditional fermentation in used oak, raised in barrel for 25 months, 30 % new.   Soils here are a mix of quartz, limestone and clay.

Lemon-yellow.  Fumé up front, enveloping and stylish. More digitized in the mouth: mutsu, citron succade, salt.  Finishes stark, tactile and mineralic.  Alpine on day two, brisk in its intimations of white gentian.  Clever in his blend of seduction and specificity.  For drinking soon; good anchor of acidity so this will keep well.
