Lambent ruby. A raspberry – cacao reduction at first. Suave, rather swollen mid-palate texture and flavor to buffer the vintage’s prominent acidity. Then airy and perfumed with savor, crystalline in its intimations of pomegranate and violet. Ripe, well-heeled tannin. Stylish: it’s a Monthélie with a little décolletage. I would enjoy this sooner rather than later to appreciate the fruit and the Lafon vinification. Now – 2020.
