From sixty year-old vines in Brochon and northern Gevrey.
Ten years on tasting.
Violet-tinged ruby. Shows vintage character on entry, more piney than pyrene: purple plums steeped in holiday wreath, strained through earth. More clarity on day two, virile and leathery: pastis, crunchy griotte, sweet coppa and a blackened minerality. A carnal Burguet in plain-speak, with the safe bet to drink these sooner instead of later.
