Maison Nicholas Potel, Santenay ‘Clos de Tavannes’ 1er Cru 1999

Potel Santenay Tavannes 1999 #1

Fifteen years on tasting.

Bright ruby, amber rim.   It comes up smelling like roses; it tastes like biting into fraises-de-bois, picked that day.  Virginal, frothy and weightless but the cool minerality really extends the finish.  Not much soil here in the ‘Clos de Tavannes’: gravel over marl-rich argovian limestone.  A beaming wine: like a tonic for your soul.  Absolutely à point.  Enjoy!
