Maison Nicholas Potel, Santenay ‘Clos de Tavannes’ 1er Cru 1999

Potel Santenay Tavannes 1999 #1

Fifteen years on tasting.

Bright ruby, amber rim.   It comes up smelling like roses; it tastes like biting into fraises du bois, picked that day.  Virginal, frothy and weightless but the cool minerality really extends the finish.  Not much soil here in the ‘Clos de Tavannes’: gravel over marl-rich argovian limestone.  A beaming wine: like a tonic for your soul.  Absolutely à point.  Enjoy!
