From grand and premier cru vineyards in Dizy, Hautvillers and Mareuil sur Aÿ in the Vallée de la Marne. 40% Meunier, 35% Chardonnay, 25% Pinot Noir. Base vintage 2009, 8% from 2008 and 8% from 2007. 34 months sur latte. Disgorgment: February 2013. Unknown dosage: in the past, these were between 8 and 10 g/l.
Pale. Corporeal now, with ’09 solidity and amplitude: lime-blossom, citrus succade, chantilly-cream. Bright autolysis flavors with swollen mid-palate thump, crisply defined. Finishes polished, snappy and dry. Seamless and admirable in its blend of richness and vivacity. Enjoy now or give them a couple years in the cellar: they’ll emerge more playful, high-flying. Now – 2020.
