Domaine Anne Gros, Chambolle-Musigny La Combe d’Orveau 2000

Anne Gros Chambolle Orveau 2000

Fifteen-years on tasting.

From an east-facing climat in the valley between Chambolle and Flagey.  Today, the vines are an equal blend of 45 and 6 year old vines, totally 1.1 ha.  Stony soils here, fine-grained scree over white marl.

Maturing ruby.   Fine-boned and trapeze-y, she soars effortlessly on a sweet mélange of fresh fruit, just-faded rose petal and filigree minerality.   She’s more than just fetching, with mandible grip for such a soft-centered vintage, fine and focused.  A wholly admirable villages, brimming with Chambolle’s charm.   Fully mature; for drinking soon.
