Alain Graillot, Crozes-Hermitage 2005

Graillot Crozes 2005

Vines average 30 years of age.  Soil composition is a mix of sand, gravel, stone.  Graillot has 50 acres on the alluvial Crozes plateau between the Rhône and Isère rivers.

Ten years on tasting.

Opaque ruby, maturing.  Intensely flavored, bold black cherry power and spiced like a souq.  The finish is mineralic silt and purple flowers, ultra-violet and just faded.  A resplendent Crozes.  Now.
