Domaine Bouchard Père et Fils, Gevrey-Chambertin Lavaux-Saint-Jacques 1er Cru 2005

Bouchard Lavaut 2005 #1

Ten years on tasting.

Bright ruby.   A moreish Lavaux with the structure and energy you would expect from an ’05.  The mid-palate is lush with summery red fruits, licorice, musk and game.  Ripe, sumptuous tannins.  Still some oak to resolve but never forceful or imploded by the seething power of the year.  Can be enjoyed now and will still improve.  Now – 2025+.
