Yellow-gold.  He’s racy but not short: plenty of ’98 acidity but it’s ripe and round, giving definition and finish to the wine.  Lines are limpid yet firm; the flint and rowan perfume, memorable.  Flavors run to white cherry, poire williams, blossom honey.  The finish is lively and adroit.  Bernkastel in motion.  Now – 2020.
