Bright crimson, paling rim.  On entry this is suave and inviting, the indigo fruit of ’05 with just a touch of oak (no toast).  Mocha flavors and wood-spice lift to reveal a wine of uncommon grace and energy.  Fruit grows more atmospheric; airy inferences run to woodland strawberry, pomegranate, red citrus.  Lithe, mineral palate.  Savory finish, faithful to his shell limestone origins.  A soaring Rheinhessen.  Now – 2020.
