Deep, vibrant saignée red. Quite metallic, this one, laced with iodine. Blood orange fruit. Gauzy texturally. Not necessarily large-scaled as emphatically flavored. Well-defined at the end, ablaze with minerality. The acidity of ’08 finishes the wine elegantly. Consistently our favorite from the Fleury portfolio. Now.

Almost crimson in color. Open, lacquered nose with a verdurous steak: a red berry fruit granita, resplendent without opacity or heaviness. Accented in sweet herb, mimosa blossom, saffron, buttered brioche. The cucumber-saline thread down the middle gives it counterpoint and complexity. We expected the juicy, emphatic display of Aube’s gutsy PN fruit: the savory twist makes it memorable. Now – 2015.
