Veuve Doussot, Brut Millésime ‘Cuvée Ernestine’ Aube 2008

Veuve Doussot Ernestine 2008

Serge Doré Selections, Chappaqua, NY.

70% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay from the Côte des Bar.  Full malo.

Yellow-gold.  From the east wind vintage and it shows.  The berries are small yet intensely-flavored; the acidity is dramatic without the prissyness.   He’s kinetic and conversant, speaks of pungent narcisssus and true ginger … not the candied stuff.  Focused fruit, cassis and pineapple.  The finish has persistence and Aube charm.  Now – 2018+.
