Lemon yellow.  A Muscat strain of Chardonnay, raised in the chalk, red clay and stone of an early-ripening site in Uchizy.  Lady apples, ringent aromatics, if not so blatantly extrovert as with past vintages.  Gauzy, melodic fruit with more lees sweetness. Echoes of mirabelle and mineral at the end.  Now – 2017.
