Château Ducru-Beaucaillou, Saint-Julien 1981

Ducru 1981

Garnet, pink-orange rim.  Trebly now, the acidity shows and skinniness is bad yet, like rust, a great terroir never sleeps.  Repose of white fennel and summer truffle and he rises up in the glass to be quite rich.  The finish is as transparent as air: lead pencil, gunzian gravel and the estuarine flavors of the Gironde.  Now.
