Forget-Brimont, Brut Rosé 1er Cru Ludes Non Vintage

Forget-Brimont Rose NV

40% Pinot Noir (5% still PN included); 40% Pinot Meunier; 20% Chardonnay from premier cru vineyards in the Montagne de Reims (Ludes, Chigny-les-Roses and Villers-Allerande).  Between 20-40% reserve wines.  Malolactic fermentation in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks.  Aged four years on the lees, another 6 months after disgorgement. Dosage: 10 g/l.  This is Lot # L. 35. 2008 base vintage. 2014 release.

Peachy-pink. Tertiary notes of mussel shell and moss allied to a brisk berried tartness.  Strawberry parfait with the acidity of a ripe blood orange.  Chalky wash at the end with a savory streak even further down below.  If it’s OK for rosé to be intriguing this one certainly is.  Now.
