Polaner Selections, Mount Kisco NY.
100% Pinot Noir from estate vineyards in Ambonnay. Blend includes 60% 2009 and 40% 2008 vintages. Ageing: raised in tank with 40% of the 2008 seeing time in neutral barrel (fût). 4 years in bottle sur latte and aged agrafé (under cork rather than crown cap). Dosage: 6 g/l. Disgorgement: December 2016.
Yellow-gold. More fruit than berried and the wine is at once sumptuous and animated. Velour texturally, santa rosa plum, buttercake and chinese 5-spice and the finish shows grand cru impeccability. Now – 2028.
Sounds amazing
It certainly is! Plenty of interplay for its bigness and not the least bit ‘oaky’.
