Bonnet-Ponson, Brut Rosé 1er Cru Chaméry

40% Pinot Noir (of which 10% is still red from Chamery), 35% Meunier, 25% Chardonnay from premier cru sites in Chamery, Vrigny and Coulommes la montagne in the western section of the Montagne de Reims.  Base vintage plus 30% reserve wines.  Aging on lees: seven months before blending with reserve wine.  Aging in bottle: four years.  The still PN sees wood (400 liter barrel).  Dosage: 7 g/l.

Coral pink.  Open and inviting on the nose.  Watermelon, nettle and orange-spice-marmalade, with an intriguing tension between coltish energy and textural finesse.  As with the Brut, the finish is savory and long.  Now.
