Martine’s Wines, Novato CA.
Fifteen years on.
Ruby. Silky and fine-grained for ’03: blueberry and barrel toast and a surmise of licorice. Sappy yet bright and the wine shows a kind of introverted power. The finish boasts vineyard-typical flavors of rocky earth, smoke and candy-cap mushroom. From the top of the vineyard, just below Rousseau’s Chambertin. Now – 2023+.
